Therapy for Executives and High-Stress Careers

You carry the weight of everything.
Who carries it with you?

You make high-stakes decisions all day and hold pressure that never fully lets up, until there’s almost nothing left for the people you love, or for yourself. That’s not a scheduling problem. It’s a pattern, and patterns can change.

High performance is supposed to feel better than this.

There’s a version of success that looks right from the outside and feels hollow on the inside. You’ve built it. The title, the income, the track record. And you’re more exhausted than you’ve ever been. The anxiety that used to sharpen your performance has started to dull it. The relationships that are supposed to ground you feel like another obligation.

You don’t have a work-life balance problem. You have a pattern of self-abandonment that got rewarded for so long it became invisible. Every time you overextended, something good happened. Every time you pushed through, you were right. Until the cost started compounding in ways you can no longer ignore.

This is not about working differently. It’s about understanding what’s actually driving the cycle and what it would take to stop it.

Meet Dr. Angela Wilkos

Therapist for Executives and High-Stress Careers

I work with high-achieving women who are done performing their way through everything.

I’m Dr. Angela Wilkos, a licensed psychologist providing telehealth therapy for executives and high-stress professionals across New Jersey, New York, Florida, and all PSYPACT participating states.

I specialize in working with women in leadership who have spent years being extraordinarily capable and quietly depleted. Who have mastered the external performance and lost touch with the internal reality underneath it. My approach integrates somatic therapy with structured, evidence-based work, because the burnout and anxiety that executives carry isn’t just a thought pattern. It’s a physical state. And that’s where we work.

How this works

A Free Consultation, No Commitment

We talk for 15-20 minutes. You tell me what's going on, I tell you how I work, and you decide if it's the right fit. No pressure, no pitch.

We Map the Pattern, Not the Symptoms

The burnout, the anxiety, the relationship friction, they're all downstream from something. We find that something and understand it where change actually sticks.

A Different Way to Lead and Live

Not by managing better or optimizing harder, but by being steadier underneath. Less reactive, more present, and clearer about what you're no longer willing to sacrifice.

This might be for you if...

  • You’re accomplished by any measure and more exhausted than you’ve ever been
  • You’re the person everyone leans on and you can’t remember the last time someone asked how you were doing
  • You’re great at managing a team and struggling to manage your own inner world
  • The anxiety that used to drive your performance is starting to undermine it
  • You’re present in every meeting and absent from your actual life
  • You’ve been telling yourself you’ll slow down after the next thing for years
  • You’re not sure if the emptiness is burnout or something more serious
  • You want help but you’ve never had space where it felt safe to not have it together

What can shift when you do this work

  • You stop carrying the office home in your nervous system
  • You make decisions from clarity instead of anxiety
  • You’re actually present with your family instead of just physically there
  • You stop saying yes out of obligation and start choosing from intention
  • Your leadership is steadier because your inner life is steadier
  • You feel like a person again, not just a function

Getting started

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. In fact, many of the most impactful therapy experiences happen with people who are functioning well externally and dealing with real depletion internally. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from this work. If you’re carrying more than feels sustainable, if you’re performing at a high level and quietly burning out, therapy can be one of the most high-leverage investments you make in yourself and in your effectiveness as a leader.

Executive coaching focuses on performance, skills, and professional goals. Therapy goes deeper. It addresses the patterns underneath, the anxiety, the burnout, the relationship dynamics, the emotional cycles that coaching doesn’t reach. For many executives, the things limiting their leadership aren’t skill gaps. They’re internal patterns that have been running in the background for years. That’s what therapy works on.

Burnout is a state of chronic depletion caused by sustained stress without adequate recovery. In executives and high-performing professionals, it often shows up as emotional exhaustion, increased cynicism or detachment, difficulty concentrating, and a growing sense that your efforts aren’t making a difference despite objective evidence to the contrary. If you’re functioning but not thriving, if work that used to energize you now just drains you, burnout is likely a factor.

Yes. All sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing. Dr. Wilkos is licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Florida, and holds PSYPACT credentialing (APIT #10246), allowing her to work with clients in over 40 participating states. Most clients start with weekly sessions. This gives us enough momentum to make real progress without long gaps where the work loses its thread. As things shift, some clients move to every other week. I’ll always be transparent about what I think makes sense and why. There’s no one-size-fits-all, and your schedule matters.

High performance shouldn't cost you everything.

You’ve spent years giving everything to the work. This is 15 minutes for you. A free conversation, no commitment, just an honest look at whether this is the right fit.
